Weekly Grade and Predictions

This was a good and bad week for the division. We are going to jump right into it.

GRADES

Chargers
This team is turning into a true Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Turnovers and 3rd down conversions (4 of 12) were what doomed this team. Justin Herbert was 18 for 35 (51.4%) for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Austin Ekeler had 11 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown with 6 receptions for 60 yards. Keenan Allen had 6 receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown. The defense had a sack and 4 tackles for loss with a fumble recovery. Dustin Hopkins was 1 for 1 on fieldgoals and 3 for 3 on extra points. There is a lot of talent on this team but you have no idea which team you are going to get week to week.
Grade: C-

Chiefs
WTF! This was suppose to be a blowout and came down to a late game defensive stop. Patrick Mahomes was 29 of 48 (60.4%) for 275 yards and a touchdown and a interception. Darrel Williams had 13 carries for 49 yards with 6 receptions for 61 yards. Tyreek Hill had 12 receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown. The defense had 3 sacks and a tackle for a loss with and interception. Harrison Butker was 2 for 2 on fieldgoals and 2 for 2 on extra points. Two more turnovers almost cost the Chiefs this game, lucky for them, Ugly Wins Matter.
Grade: C+

Broncos
This game was all about defense and special teams. Teddy Bridgewater was 19 of 26 (73%) for 213 yards and a touchdown. Melvin Gordon had 10 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown with 3 receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown and a fumble. Tim Patrick had 3 receptions for 64 yards. The defense had 5 sacks and 4 tackles for loss with 2 interceptions. Brandon McManus was 1 for 2 on fieldgoals and 2 for 2 on extra points. The Broncos also blocked not one but two fieldgoal attempts. Talk abpout finding a way to win.
Grade: B

Regarding the elephant in the room, Henry Ruggs actions were not only stupid, they were tragic and avoidable. He made the decision to not only drive impaired but to drive recklessly at insane speed and it cost someone their life. To the family and friends of the victim, my prayers and deepest condolences go out.

To my MS family, I implore you, do not get behind the wheel if you have had anything to drink. It is not worth it. Take a cab, Uber, Lyft, walk, whatever you have to do just don’t drink and drive.

Mahomes Family Moment of the Week:

Painful. I’d be surprised if he and his baby mama see their upcoming wedding day. $275MM and another big money contract a handful of years from now is still a lot of money Pat. Let her have her half. Forever is a long time.

Honorable Mention:

Whoooooofff…. that dab was ice cold. Did Pat possibly tell Jackson to stop doing dumb shit??
